'New GK For Me': Mahua Moitra Mixes Up Manipur And Arunachal Pradesh In Major Faux Pas

New Delhi: What was supposed to be a supportive shoutout to the little viral girl from Arunachal Pradesh, who had responded firmly to people not to call her "Chinese" and that she was Indian, ended up being an embarrassing moment for Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra after she allegedly mixed up Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh.

"My little darling girl, you are India. You are our pure soul, our heart. You are what makes us love our country. Jai Hind. Jai Manipur," she wrote for the girl from Itanagar.

Netizens were quick to identify the error. One of the users wrote, "So Itanagar is in Manipur. One new GK for me."

Another user wrote,"In today’s geography lesson, we learned that apparently, Itanagar is in Manipur."

"BTW, @MahuaMoitra thinks Itanagar is in Manipur. what a shame," another user wrote.

For the unversed, Karga Tinkle Gongo, a young girl from Itanagar, became an internet sensation after her firm response to someone who called her “Chinese” went viral. Her simple message, “Don’t call me Chinese, call me Indian”, connected with users on social media, winning her support and love.

The little girl's simple message highlights the deep-rooted racist mindset in Indian society.
