Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan surprised the cricket fans in his country after he did not pick a single Pakistani cricketer while building his "perfect T20 player" in a rapid-fire challenge.
Instead, he chose players from India, West Indies, South Africa and New Zealand. He selected former Indian captain and star batter Rohit Sharma as opener and captain to lead his perfect T20 XI.
Shadab was asked about his "Perfect T20 player" during an interview on "Crickwickofficial" Instagram account.
The video of the interview has gone viral and Shadab is facing criticism from the Pakistani fans on social media. During the challenge, Shadab was asked to pick the best player for different roles to create the ultimate T20 cricketer.
For the opener, Shadab picked Rohit Sharma. He later chose the Indian captain again as his preferred captain, making Rohit the only player to feature twice in his selections.
For the power hitter, Shadab went with West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran, while another Caribbean legend Kieron Pollard was his choice for the all-rounder's role.
When asked to name a fast bowler, Shadab selected former New Zealand pacer Shane Bond. He said he always admired Bond's bowling action, even though the former speedster did not play much T20 cricket.
For the spinner's role, Shadab picked Sunil Narine, while South Africa's Quinton de Kock was his choice as the wicket-keeper.
