Pimpri-Chinchwad: A tragic accident occurred in Hinjawadi IT Park near Pancharatna Chowk on Monday evening after a company bus carrying IT employees went out of control and crashed onto a footpath. Two schoolchildren died on the spot, while around five others have been injured, according to initial reports.

Two Siblings Lost Lives, Third Critical
Sr PI Pandhare further told The FPJ that the two deceased were brothers and sisters. The deceased have been identified as Suraj Devendra Prasad (6 years) and Archana Devendra Prasad (9). Meanwhile, their older sister, identified as Priya Devendra Prasad (16 years) is critically injured and is undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital. Avinash Haridas Chavan (26) is also seriously injured, and Vimal Raju Ozarkar (40) is injured but currently stable.
Bus Driver Drunk
The accident happened around 5.45 pm in the evening near Pancharatna Chowk in Hinjawadi. The company bus with registration number MH 14 LL 7233, travelling from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk towards Wakad, was being driven by the driver, identified as Nagnath Rajabhau Gujar (36, Bhosari). The driver first struck a two-wheeler (motorcycle) bearing number MH 10 CE 0481, severely injuring the two-wheeler rider. Subsequently, the bus struck two girls and one boy who were walking along the side of the road from behind.

The seriously injured persons were taken to Pune District Hospital in Aundh, and they are undergoing treatment. The bus driver caused this accident by driving the vehicle at high speed and recklessly while under the influence of alcohol. A case under BNS section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) will be registered against him, police officials told The FPJ.
