Pune: 594 Caught In Massive Ticket Checking Drive At Stations; Railways Collect ₹2.11 Lakh Fine In Single Day

As part of the drive, a total of 16 trains, including 7 on the Down platform and 9 on the Up platform, were given 5-minute halts each for the purpose of ticket checking at Pune Railway Stations. The special operation was meticulously planned to ensure that there was no impact on the punctuality of the train services.
All coaches were thoroughly checked by the ticket checking staff, ensuring that irregular passengers were dealt with strictly in accordance with the Railway rules. The operation was carried out peacefully, without any untoward incidents.

The staff deployment for the ambush check included 1 officer (DCM), 1 supervisor (CTI HQ Pune), 28 ticket-checking staff, and 13 Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Kumar Verma and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Anil Kumar Pathak, and under the supervision of Divisional Commercial Manager Hemant Kumar Behera.
Hemant Behera, Public Relations Officer of Pune Division, speaking to FPJ, said a total of 594 passengers were detected travelling without tickets, with irregular tickets, or carrying unpermissioned luggage, leading to the collection of ₹2,11,380 as fine.
This drive reflects Pune Division’s continuous commitment towards curbing ticketless travel, enhancing revenue, and ensuring discipline across the railway network, added Behera.
