Pune: 3-Year-Old Girl Dies After Falling Into Open Water Tank In Pimpri-Chinchwad’s Sangvi | Representational Image

Pimpri-Chinchwad: A tragic incident was reported from Juni Sangvi, where a three-year-old girl lost her life after falling into an open water tank at a construction site. The incident took place on the night of Tuesday (31st March) at Datta Mandir, Pawana Nagar Lane 1.

The deceased has been identified as Priyanka Manoj Vishwakarma, aged three years and nine months. According to police, she was playing near her home when the accident occurred.

Based on a complaint filed by her father, Manoj Ujjain Vishwakarma (22), Sangvi Police have arrested three persons in connection with the case. The accused have been identified as Manish Babasaheb Pawar, Jairam Babanrao Kamble, and Vasant Kailas Bansode.

Police said the girl accidentally fell into an open water tank located at a building under construction owned by the accused. The tank was left uncovered and had no safety measures in place. Officials stated that the accused were aware of the danger but failed to take necessary precautions.

Priyanka was pulled out of the tank, but she had already died by the time help arrived. The incident has raised serious concerns about safety at construction sites in residential areas.

A case has been registered against the accused for negligence leading to death. Sangvi police are conducting further investigation to determine the exact circumstances and accountability in the case.

Local residents have expressed anger over the incident and demanded strict action against those responsible.
