Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant presented Mahindra's letter directly while announcing this project at a meeting of industrialists. As Samant announced that MIDC will provide land for this project, the industry circle is expressing the feeling that the big project that Nashik people had been waiting for for many days has been sealed.
Industries Minister Samant, who visited Nashik on Monday, held a meeting of industrial organisations in the city. School Education Minister Dada Bhuse, Food and Drug Administration Minister Narahari Jirwal, MLAs, as well as representatives of NIMA and AIMA, were present on this occasion.

Minister Samant said that the discussion about Mahindra's project coming to Advan is old. However, the project, which was initially proposed on 650 acres of land, has been decided to be built on 500, 450 and finally 350 acres due to land disputes.
Meanwhile, no information was given in the meeting about how much Mahindra will invest in this project. MLAs Seema Hire, Saroj Ahire, Dilip Bankar, Hiraman Khoskar, NIMA President Ashish Nahar, AIMA President Lalit Bub, Nikhil Tapadia of Laghu Udyog Bharati, Sanjay Sonawane of Maharashtra Chamber, etc., were present in this meeting.
'Thunderbolt' required to sustain the project
While stating that a positive atmosphere has now been created from all sides for the proposed project of Mahindra, which was initially controversial, Minister Samant clarified that the collective responsibility of sustaining this project lies with the government as well as local public representatives and industrial organisations. He expressed the hope that everyone should make united efforts for this. Samant suggested creating a 'land bank' as there is a shortage of space in the Nashik industrial estate.
60-day deadline to remove encroachments
Commenting on the encroachments in the industrial estates, which have always been a topic of discussion in Nashik, Samant clarified that he will not take anyone's side in this regard. A notice will be given to the concerned industries to remove the encroachments. If the industrialists do not remove the encroachments on their own within this period, MIDC will take action. Such land will be given to other industries, he informed. In this regard, Samant also cited an example from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
“The announcement made by Samant regarding the proposed project of the Mahindra Company is welcome. This project will create about 1,500 direct and 3,000 indirect jobs. All the industrial associations in Nashik were pursuing this project for many days. Finally, the Industries Minister gave a pleasant shock to Nashik residents by making an official announcement. Mahindra’s project will complement the industrial development of Nashik," said Lalit Bub, President, AIMA, Nashik.
