Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation has imposed fines worth ₹41,500 on coaching centres and educational institutes for allegedly dumping advertisement brochures and pamphlets on roads and open spaces across the city.
The action was carried out on Thursday under the guidance of Amol Yedge and under the supervision of Nandkishor Bhombe through the Clean Street App initiative.

According to civic officials, the drive was launched to maintain cleanliness on city roads and take action against institutions and contractors responsible for littering and defacing public spaces.
Officials said the Nagari Mitra Pathak team of the municipal corporation has been conducting a special cleanliness drive in the city for the last three days. Earlier, on May 4, fines worth ₹17,000 were imposed on schools and educational institutions for dumping garbage in open spaces and on roads.

As part of the ongoing drive, action was taken against CDS College on Sudhakarnagar Road, Motion Classes and RK Chemistry Classes for allegedly scattering advertising pamphlets and brochures on roads.
The civic body also took action against construction contractors for dumping building materials in open spaces. A fine of ₹14,500 was recovered from them.
On Thursday, officials imposed fines of ₹5,000 each on AIB Biology Classes in New Osmanpura and Unacademy Classes near Chunnilal Petrol Pump for littering roads with promotional material.
Municipal officials, including Dashrath Bhise, Murlidhar Shahane, Fakirrao Wakale and Vishnu Kakade, participated in the drive.

The administration appealed to citizens and institutions to cooperate in keeping the city clean and green. Officials also urged coaching centres and contractors to make proper arrangements for the disposal of promotional material and construction waste.
The municipal corporation warned that the anti-littering drive will continue, and strict action will be taken against those found defacing the city.
