It will be for the first time after the rebellion by 40 legislators leading to the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government and the formation of the Shinde Fadnavis government, the Chief Minister Mr Eknath Shinde and former Chief Minister Mr Uddhav Thackeray will come face to face in the state council during the winter session starting from December 19 at Nagpur. Mr Thackeray, who heads the Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray and is also a member of the state council, will arrive at Nagpur to attend the proceedings for two days.

Mr Thackeray will also attend the meeting of the Maha Vikas Aghadi slated for Monday afternoon to discuss the joint strategy to take on the Shinde Fadnavis government during the winter session. Mr Thackeray after the rebellion had declared that he would resign as the CM and also from the membership of the state council. Even though he stepped down as the CM, he continues to be the member of the state council.

Thackeray Vs Shinde

Mr Thackeray has been stepping up attacks against his former colleague and the present CM Mr Shinde terming him a ‘’dummy’’ CM heading the ‘’khoke’’ Sarkar. However, Mr Shinde has denied these charges defending his decision along with 49 other legislators to leave MVA and joined hands with the BJP for the formation of the government honouring the 2019 mandate.

Mr Thackeray had alleged that the Shinde Fadnavis government is illegal and unconstitutional while Mr Shinde has claimed that it was legal and constitutional and proved majority on the floor of the house. Mr Thackeray had termed Mr Shinde and other legislators ‘’traitors’’ though Mr Shinde had countered the charge saying that it was Thackeray led party after 2019 elections indulged into treachery by joining hands with the NCP and Congress while ditching the BJP with whom the assembly elections were fought.

Meanwhile, the leader of opposition in the state assembly Mr Ajit Pawar today confirmed that ‘’Uddhav Thackeray will be present for the winter session of the Maharashtra legislature).’’

The leader of opposition in the state council Mr Ambadas Danve also said that Mr Thackeray will attend the winter session and the MVA meeting. ‘’A joint strategy, which has already been discussed, will be given a final touch at Monday’s meeting of the MVA,’’ he noted.
