Mumbai: Two vehicles caught fire following a collision near the Air India building at Marine Drive on Friday evening. Officials from the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) rushed to the spot and extinguished the flames. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though both vehicles sustained significant damage.
Fire brigade swiftly brings blaze under control
According to MFB officials, a fire broke out after a Santro cab collided with another car from behind at around 7:45 PM, causing panic in the area. Two fire engines were deployed, and the blaze was brought under control within minutes. Both drivers were able to exit their vehicles safely. The cab was completely charred, while the other car was partially burnt, a fire official said.
Traffic briefly halted on Marine Drive after incident
The incident temporarily disrupted traffic, as vehicles on both carriageways along Marine Drive were brought to a halt. Later, with the help of a crane, both burnt vehicles were removed, and traffic movement was restored. Fortunately, no one was injured. The Marine Drive Police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.
