Mumbai: Sameer Wankhede's sister Yasmeen has claimed that the probe done by the Amboli police over her complaint of defamation and stalking against NCP leader Nawab Malik was biased and influenced. She claimed that the police's approach was casual as it mentioned her father’s name as Dawood instead of Dnyandev.
Protest Petition Filed
The Amboli police had on the direction of the metropolitan magistrate court, Andheri had submitted a report on the investigation done on Yasmeen’s complaint against Malik.
The police has in its report said that it found no evidence against Malik in the defamation and stalking complaint filed by her. Aggrieved by the report, Yasmeen has filed a protest petition against the probe report submitted by police.
Grave Errors in Report
In its petition, Yasmeen has claimed that “the police report itself is vitiated as it wrongly records the name of the applicant’s father as Dawood Wankhede instead of his correct name Dnyandev Wankhede. This shows clear non-application of mind and lack of reference to caste committee reports and authentic records. Such a grave mistake reflects casual and mechanical investigation.”
Misuse of Private Photographs
She has further claimed that ‘Mali has claimed that he is a spokesperson of a political party. Even if such a claim is true, it does not authorise the accused to misuse private photographs from Instagram and publish them publicly for his own private agenda.’
Background of the Complaint
Yasmeen, has in her complaint, claimed that Malik made scandalous remarks at the relevant time on his social media account and also in his interviews. It was the time when Malik had made several allegations against Wankhede, who was probing a case involving his son in law.
Alleged Defamatory Remarks
In her complaint she claimed that Malik, out of the grudge against Wankhede, had made several allegations against her and her family members in an attempt to pressurise them.
Claim of Defamation and Stalking
It was further claimed that Malik out of revenge posted her pictures calling her as 'lady don'. While seeking action for stalking, she claimed that her photographs were illegally retrieved from various platforms and circulated with alleged defamatory comments.
