Mumbai: The Door Step School Foundation (DSSF) has launched an initiative, spanning from March 17 to 22, to enhance parental participation in children's education. The program includes counseling sessions, interactive workshops, and resources designed to equip parents with the tools and knowledge needed to support their children's learning at home.
As part of this initiative, DSSF is also organising an exhibition on ‘Parents’ Participation for Children’s Education’ at the Parivartan Training Centre in Pune. The exhibition will showcase various methods to assist children with their studies at home, alongside educational resources, activity workbooks, and opportunities to interact with practitioners who work closely with parents.
Through this initiative, DSSF aims to strengthen the role of parents in shaping their children's academic journey.
The initiative will include awareness and counselling sessions to educate parents on the significance of home-based learning alongside classroom education. Additionally, workshops and hands-on training sessions will equip parents with practical strategies to support their children’s studies, even if they themselves are not literate.
Further, the programme will provide educational materials, workbooks, and structured activities designed to facilitate home learning. Community-based learning support will also be incorporated, using ‘parent groups’ and ‘learning circles’ to foster peer learning and shared experiences among parents.
