Mumbai News: 17-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Arabian Sea Near Mahim; Search Operation Underway
An alert of the was raised by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Mumbai Fire Brigade following the drowning.

A 17-year-old boy drowned in the sea near Mahim dargah on Wednesday while trying to clean mud on his body during high tide. Piyush Oberoi, a resident of Sion Koliwada, accompanied with a group of friends had gone to hangout at the shore after visiting dargah. According to the fire brigade, the incident occurred at 1.50 pm behind the Mukhdoom Sea Palace, Custom Road.
A junior college student, Oberoi and his five-six friends decided to visit dargah after returning from their institute in Wadala. According to his peers, they later went near the sea for frolicking, but the teen's legs got muddy and went to wash them. Subsequently, the deceased removed his clothes and jumped into the sea. When he didn't return, his friends informed the life guards and the police.
Immediately, a search was launched and the body was fished out after three hours. The boy was pronounced dead by the doctors at the Sion Hospital.
