Mumbai: Cabbie arrested for flashing private parts in front of female college student in Tardeo

Mumbai: A rental car driver was on Wednesday arrested from Andheri for flashing his private parts and performing obscene acts in front of a woman college student at the Haji Ali junction. The pervert driver was tracked in less than 12 hours.

The victim, daughter of a senior bureaucrat, was passing the Haji Ali junction when the accused called her near his car on the pretext of asking an address and began masturbating. “Sensing something amiss, the victim began recording the act on her mobile and raised an alarm. The driver immediately sped away towards Worli and escaped,” said a senior police official supervising the case.

Cops alerted by screams of the student

Alerted by the screams of the student, policemen posted at the Haji Ali beat chowki rushed to the spot but the car driver had sped away. Taking serious cognisance of the case, senior police officials formed a team, led by zonal deputy police commissioner Akbar Pathan. Tardeo police station officers scanned CCTV footages of the escaping car and tracked it down to suburban Andheri.

According to the police, the accused driver, identified as Abdul Ahmad Ghaus Mohammad Rahini, had parked the car outside the car rental service office in Andheri and left for the night. Three teams were posted to keep vigil on possible locations of the accused.

“Since the office premises were locked and the neighbourhood was also shut, no further details could be ascertained. The accused had switched off his mobile, so his whereabouts could not be tracked. A team camped overnight outside the office and nabbed the accused on return to office in the morning,” said the investigating officer.
