Mumbai Crime: Sex racket busted at Spa in Bandra, Thai women among 5 rescued

The police received a tip-off that Thai Spa, located in Aras Building on Waterfield Road, was involved in the racket.

Five women, including a Thai national, were rescued after a prostitution racket was busted at a spa in Bandra. Acting on a tip-off, the Mumbai police's social service enforcement branch sent a decoy customer to a Thai Spa located in the Aras Building, Waterfield Road, Bandra on Friday night.

The 'customer' was offered normal and special massage. When queried about the special massage, the receptionist said that sexual services were provided under this category. Subsequently, cops dressed in civvies raided the establishment. Out of five rescued women, four are from the northeast.

Female pimp involved, male pimp absconding

According to the police, a woman pimp has been given notice under the Code of Criminal Procedure section 46 (4) and asked to remain present before the police for further investigation, while another other male pimp is absconding. One mobile phone and cash worth ₹17,500 were seized during the action. The cops also found incriminating screenshots on the devices of the suspects.

A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the The Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act at the Khar police station.
