Mumbai Crime: Father Booked For Burning 5-Year-Old Daughter With Cigarette Butts For Not Sleeping In Mankhurd
The Mankhurd Police have registered a case against a "merciless" father, Rajeshram alias Bhagwan, for allegedly burning his five-year-old daughter with cigarette butts. The shocking incident came to light after a video of the alleged abuse surfaced. The father is accused of beating and burning his daughter with cigarettes out of anger because she wasn't sleeping.

Mumbai: The Mankhurd Police have registered a case against a "merciless" father, Rajeshram alias Bhagwan, for allegedly burning his five-year-old daughter with cigarette butts. The shocking incident came to light after a video of the alleged abuse surfaced. The father is accused of beating and burning his daughter with cigarettes out of anger because she wasn't sleeping.
According to the FIR, the complaint was filed by animal lover Abdul Hakim Qayyum Shaikh,45, resides in Karbala Chawl, Mankhurd. On June 30, at 2:45 PM, while he was on his way to pick up children from school in Deonar Colony, his wife sent him a video.
In the video, he recognized Rajeshram alias Bhagwan, known to him, tying his 5-year-old daughter's feet and beating her. Shaikh then went to the Mankhurd police station, showed the video, and sought police assistance.
When police visited Rajeshram's home and questioned his two children, the daughter stated that her father would beat her and burn her cheeks with cigarette butts because she didn't fall asleep quickly.
Police have sent the girl to the hospital for medical examination and treatment. A case has been registered against the father under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act and The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
