Mumbai Police Deploys 11,000 Personnel for Security Amid Holi Celebrations |
Mumbai: With the festival of Holi approaching on March 14, Mumbai Police has heightened security across the city. According to an official statement, approximately 11,000 personnel will be deployed on the streets to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents.
As per the police, security arrangements will be in place on March 13 and 14 for Holika Dahan and Holi celebrations. The deployment includes 7 Additional Police Commissioners, 19 Deputy Commissioners, 51 Assistant Commissioners, 1,767 police officers, and 9,145 constables. In addition, SRPF platoons, RCP platoons, QRT teams, BDDS teams, and Home Guard personnel will be stationed across the city.
Apart from Mumbai Police, special traffic arrangements have been made to ensure smooth vehicular movement. The Traffic Police will set up checkpoints at various locations across the city, patrol crowded areas, and implement strict traffic control measures. A special drive against traffic violations and drunk driving will be conducted, with strict action taken against offenders.

Additionally, authorities will take legal action against individuals driving under the influence, causing public disturbances, misbehaving with women, selling unauthorized liquor, and engaging in illegal activities such as drug sales and consumption.
