For Salman, the key is to allow yourself a moment to process the pain-maybe even cry in private-but then shift your mindset

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently shared some candid advice about dealing with breakups, offering a no-nonsense approach that reflects his iconic on-screen persona. Breakups don't need to be long-dramatic affairs
Salman likened ending a relationship to removing a band-aid-the quicker, the better. "If your girlfriend has broken up with you, let her go. Say goodbye and move on," he told Arhaan. Drawing a sharp comparison, he explained that lingering over emotional pain only stretches the hurt. “When you have to pull off a band-aid, you don’t do it slowly. You rip it off in one go.”
For Salman, the key is to allow yourself a moment to process the pain-maybe even cry in private-but then shift your mindset. "Cry it out if you must, but come back out and say, ‘What’s up? How’s it going?’” he said. He wants to showcase strength and personal growth here.
Apologise freely, Acknowledge mistakes
Despite his firm stance on moving on, Salman was quick to stress the importance of humility and accountability. He believes a strong character is defined not just by confidence but also by the ability to admit when you’re wrong.
“Always apologise when you’ve made a mistake,” he told Arhaan. “Saying ‘thank you’ and ‘sorry’ should be second nature.” These small gestures reflect emotional maturity and can go a long way in healing and maintaining relationships- romantic or otherwise.
Healing after a break-up
While Salman’s advice resonates with many who prefer not to dwell on emotional pain, not everyone agrees with the ‘rip-the-band-aid’ philosophy. Critics argue that rushing through heartbreak may cause people to bottle up emotions rather than fully process them. Mental health experts often suggest that confronting and understanding one’s feelings-even if it takes time-leads to more sustainable healing.
