Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): The fading folk art of Malwa, Mandana, made an indelible mark on the global stage during the Sharad Purnima celebrations at Ram Ghat. With the support of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Board and the district administration, young artist Siddharth Bhagchandani achieved his target ahead of schedule during the Mandana Tapasya event, securing four world records.
Organised by the Mandana Chaupal wing of Pratikalpa Cultural Organisation, the event saw Siddharth surpass his original target of creating a 108-metre-long art gallery in 36 hours. He created a 111-metre-long depiction of the 'Shiv Baraat' in just 32 hours, 3 minutes and 42 seconds, scripting a new chapter in the history of folk art.
