Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav presented the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) budget for the financial year 2025-26, amounting to Rs 8,175 crore.

This year’s budget, reduced by Rs 128 crore compared to the previous year, focuses on infrastructural development, digital transformation, and environmental sustainability while ensuring no new taxes or hikes in existing ones.

A First in Municipal History: Budget Reduction

For the first time in IMC’s history, the budget has been reduced instead of increasing. Last year’s proposed income was Rs 8,302.46 crore, with an expenditure of Rs 8,232.26 crore, whereas this year, income is projected at Rs 8,174.94 crore and expenditure at Rs 8,236.98 crore. Despite this reduction, the budget aligns with the city’s long-term Vision 2050 for a clean, prosperous, and self-reliant Indore.
