Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A video of a female influencer from Madhya Pradesh's Indore lying on a zebra-crossing while the traffic was standing on red light has gone viral on social media. The girl was apparently posing for a photoshoot for a social media reel.

After the video went viral, police launched an investigation into the matter.

The police’s social media monitoring cell identified the Instagram video on Friday. Preliminary investigation suggests it was recorded at Lantern Square.

In the video, the influencer, identified as Prakriti Gaur, is reportedly seen lying on the zebra crossing in front of vehicles while posing for a photo and video shoot. She allegedly filmed the content when vehicles had stopped at the signal, disrupting traffic.

Regarding the matter, police said the monitoring cell had identified the viral video and initiated legal proceedings.

The footage appeared to show a violation of traffic rules. The matter is also being examined under preventive orders issued by Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh concerning social media content, said the police.

Police added that the guidelines were regularly issued to regulate social media content, and FIRs may be registered in cases of violations.

Police may also act against anyone found obstructing traffic or putting their own life or the lives of others at risk. He said strict action would be taken if the influencer was found to have violated the rules.

Influencer apologises with a video 

After the video went viral, the influencer released another video expressing regret over the incident. She claimed that some people were presenting her video out of context.

She said, “I believe my video is being presented out of context. The act was not intentional, and I did not violate any traffic rules while filming the video. I will be more careful while shooting videos at public places in the future.”

She added that she did not intend to cross the line and she has immense respect for the police and rules that are in place to maintain safety and order.
