Enthusiastic voting in Barwani

Reportedly, long queues of voters had started gathering at polling booths since Friday morning, which could be seen throughout the day.

Barwani (Madhya Pradesh): Amid the third phase of polling at Barwani and Pati, the voters displayed great enthusiasm to choose their representatives.

Reportedly, long queues of voters had started gathering at polling booths since Friday morning, which could be seen throughout the day.

Collector Shivraj Singh Verma, Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Shukla and Election Commission observer Prabhat Kumar Verma inspected the process of voting throughout the day. At the same time, sector and executive magistrates along with police officials also maintained their presence in the area. Due to which the voting process went on peacefully.

According to the District Election Office, till 1:00 pm, 70.5 percent of voting was completed in Barwani and 72.6 per cent in Pati block. The facility of shade, water and wheel chair was also provided to the voters at the respective booths.

Even the voters belonging to remote hilly areas and backward classes of Pati showed tremendous enthusiasm for voting. Election Commission observer Prabhat Kumar Verma informed that those voters who were not able to vote before 3:00 pm were provided a token to vote till late. These tokens were distributed under the guidance of Executive Magistrate and Sector Officers. Polling stations include Barwani Khurd, Bawangja, Anjrada, Osada, Budi, Pati, Aonli, Sanwariyapani, Chaki, Matarkund, Topar, Bokrata, Piparkund and many others.
