5 Crore Devotees To Take Holy Bath During Simhastha In A Day: CM Mohan Yadav

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said 5 crore devotees are expected to take holy dip in river Kshipra a single day during Simhastha 2028, as required ghats will be developed to accommodate the massive turnout.

He was speaking at the six-day Sadanira Samagam, organised under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan at Bharat Bhavan on Friday.

CM also released a documentary series, ‘Sadanira’, poetry compilation –‘Prithivi Pani Ka desh Hai’, Jal-dhara book based on traditional methods of water storage and journalism-related books. These books are from Veer Bharat Nyas, MPCOST, Janjatiya Lok Kala Evam Boli Vikas Academy.

The CM called upon citizens to rededicate themselves to the rejuvenation of rivers and water bodies. The state government launched the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Yojana on March 30, which will continue until June 30.

The campaign aims to clean and conserve water bodies across the state. Renovation and conservation work is underway in all districts, said CM.

“Water storage and conservation have been our tradition. We can survive without food for a while but not without water. The significance of Ganga water is deeply embedded in our culture, even in the last rites of life,” the CM said.

Government has prepared a list of districts for their excellent job in conservation of water bodies and Khandwa has ranked no-1 in the country for its excellent work, said Yadav.
