Rajasthan: Ajmer Court Accepts Petition Claiming Existence Of Sankat Mochan Mahadev Temple Within Premises Of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Dargah

The Ajmer Civil Court has accepted a petition claiming the existence of a Sankat Mochan Mahadev Temple within the premises of the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer.
The bench of Civil Judge Manmohan Chandel has issued notices to the Ministry of Minority Affairs, the Dargah Committee Ajmer, and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), seeking their submissions on the matter. The next hearing is scheduled for December 20.

The petition was filed by the National President of the Hindu Sena, Vishnu Gupta, and is based on the book Ajmer: Historical and Descriptive written by retired judge Harvilas Sharda. It alleges that debris from the temple was used in the construction of the Dargah and claims that a Jain temple also exists within the Dargah complex.
Advocate Ram Swaroop Bishnoi, representing the petitioner, stated that a 38-page petition was submitted in court, supported by historical evidence and facts, to request an ASI survey of the Dargah complex. The Dargah Committee, Ministry of Minority Affairs, and ASI have been named as parties in the suit.
