New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday revealed the name of his favourite politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during an "Ask Me Anything" session on Instagram, where he was asked the question.

He named former Congress leader and Punjab Chief Minister Amrinder Singh, who joined the BJP in 2022.
Gandhi said, "Captain Amrinder Singh, definitely. I get along with him. He is cool, and he is an expert on military history." He ended his response with, "Hello, Uncle Amarinder!"
The Congress party also shared Gandhi's response on X with the caption, "LoP Shri @RahulGandhi gives a warm shoutout to his favourite politician from the BJP."
The AMA session is part of Gandhi's outreach to Gen Z, which gained momentum after the "Chatron Ki Goonj", a nationwide student outreach campaign launched by the Congress in June 2026. It addresses exam paper leaks, recruitment delays, and the lack of fixed academic calendars.

He left the grand old party in 2021 following differences with the party's state leadership and subsequently formed his own political outfit, the Punjab Lok Congress.
