Massive Fire Breaks Out In Kolkata’s Newtown Slum Area, No Casualties Reported | VIDEO
At least five fire tenders were rushed to the area to control the blaze. Firefighting operations are currently underway, and officials are working to prevent the fire from spreading further. Currently, there is no update on the cause of the fire or any reports of casualties.

Kolkata: A major fire broke out in a slum area of Kolkata’s Newtown on Wednesday, December 17. In a video shared by the news agency ANI, visuals showed massive flames engulfing the area.
The report further added that at least five fire tenders were rushed to the area to control the blaze. There were no reports of anu casualties in the in the blaze, which broke out in one of the shanties around 7.30 pm and quickly spread to adjoining houses, as reported by PTI. The area was partially cordoned off, and vehicular movement was also regulated. Citing an official, the agency reported that the cause of the incident is believed to be bursting of an LPG cylinder.

In another incident of fire, a fire broke out in the regional office of the LIC of India at Tamil Nadu. As the department received a call regarding a fire, three fire tenders reached the spot to douse the flames.
Although the exact cause of the incident is not known, fire department officials stated that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident.
In Mumbai, a fire incident was reported outside a tunnel on the Coastal Road in South Mumbai. The blaze outside the tunnel at Marine Lines opposite the Police Gymkhana was reported in the evening at around 7.12 pm. The fire was doused in less than an hour, and no injuries were reported in the fire. A civic official said the blaze may have been caused by a short circuit as the structure where the fire started was used for storage of some materials.
