Hyderabad: Football icon Lionel Messi has arrived at the Uppal Stadium for the much-awaited exhibition match with CM Revanth Reddy’s Team. Messi arrived in Hyderabad for the second leg of his GOAT India Tour 2025.

The football legend was escorted under tight security following disruptions during his first stop in Kolkata earlier in the day. Lionel Messi took part in an exhibition match with Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and scored a goal.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy scored his first goal of the friendly match as the exhibition game at Uppal Stadium got underway during the GOAT India Tour 2025.

The goal came in the final minutes of the contest, drawing loud cheers from the crowd as fans witnessed the Chief Minister finding the back of the net in the much-anticipated clash. Revanth Reddy and Lionel Messi also played together on the pitch for a few minutes.

The crowd cheered loudly as the star player stepped onto the field and played alongside the Telangana CM in what became a historic moment.

Meanwhile, the police on Saturday arrested Satadru Datta, the prime organiser of the Lionel Messi football event at Salt Lake stadium in Kolkata. The development came hours after widespread chaos at the venue. which prompted the Argentine World Cup-winning captain to leave the field early.
