Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday warned Pakistan that “every inch of its territory is now within the reach of the BrahMos missile,” declaring that India’s military strength has reached unprecedented levels. Speaking at the BrahMos Aerospace facility in Lucknow, Singh said that the recent “Operation Sindoor” was only a “trailer” of India’s capability to act decisively against terrorism.
“Operation Sindoor has proven that victory is no longer a rare event for us. Victory has become our habit,” Singh said, addressing a large gathering after flagging off the first batch of BrahMos missiles produced at the Lucknow plant. The event, attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, marked a major milestone in India’s defence manufacturing journey.
Rajnath Singh, who also represents Lucknow in Parliament, described the BrahMos missile system as a “symbol of India’s growing indigenous defence capability.” He said the state-of-the-art missiles are now ready for deployment across the armed forces. “Our adversaries can no longer hide from the precision and power of BrahMos. Every inch of Pakistani territory is within its range,” Singh asserted.
The Defence Minister added that the BrahMos facility in Lucknow reflects the country’s march towards self-reliance in defence technology. “It is a matter of great pride that this plant, inaugurated just five months ago, has already delivered its first batch of missiles. This is the new India—resilient, efficient, and unstoppable,” he said.
Taking a direct swipe at Pakistan, Singh remarked, “What happened in Operation Sindoor was just a trailer. That alone made Pakistan realise India’s capability. If India could create Pakistan, then I need not say what else it can do.”

He also announced that BrahMos Aerospace has signed contracts worth nearly ₹4,000 crore with two countries within just one month, strengthening India’s position as a global defence exporter. “India is no longer a taker but a giver on the world stage. We are now providing security, not seeking it,” he said.
Rajnath Singh highlighted that the Lucknow unit’s turnover is projected to touch ₹3,000 crore in the next financial year, with an estimated ₹5,000 crore in annual GST contributions. Built at a cost of ₹380 crore over 200 acres, the facility was inaugurated in May 2025 and has set a record by achieving production within five months. It is expected to manufacture around 100 missiles annually for the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called the BrahMos project a “cornerstone of a self-reliant India.” He said the state government has provided over 2,500 acres of land for defence manufacturing projects in six nodes, creating employment for more than 15,000 youth. “The BrahMos unit has already contributed ₹40 crore in GST to the state exchequer. Once production rises to 150 missiles per year, the state will earn up to ₹200 crore annually through GST,” Yogi said.
Praising Adityanath’s leadership, Singh said Uttar Pradesh’s transformation from a “gangster state” to a “defence hub” was historic. “Under Yogi’s leadership, the UP Defence Corridor is emerging as a powerhouse of strategic and economic strength,” he said.

The Defence Minister also underscored the wider benefits of the BrahMos project beyond national security. “Each missile we produce contributes to the nation’s progress. The revenue generated will help build schools, hospitals, and welfare facilities,” he said.
Senior officials from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), BrahMos Aerospace, and state ministers including Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi were present at the event.
The commissioning of the Lucknow facility marks a strategic milestone for India, reinforcing the country’s defence readiness while turning the state capital into a crucial node of India’s growing defence manufacturing ecosystem. “Lucknow is not just my parliamentary constituency—it resides in my soul,” Singh said. “The progress we are witnessing today makes me deeply proud as an Indian and as a representative of this city.”
