Telugu actor Allu Arjun who was arrested in Sandhya Theatre stampede case, has been granted interim bail by Telangana High Court in the case.

The single-judge bench of Telangana High Court heard the Telugu actor's plea.

The Pushpa actor had also moved the Telangana High Court seeking the quashing of an FIR in connection with a stampede at Sandhya theatre on December 4, which claimed the life of 39-year-old woman's life and left her son critically injured.

Earlier today, the Nampally court sent Allu Arjun to 14 days of judicial custody.

During hearing today, Allu Arjun's lawyer submitted before HC that the actor's custody was only for sensationalism, emphasising that Allu Arjun has been cooperating fully in the investigation.

According to India Today, Allu Arjun's lawyer said, "The remand report doesn't say anything about the intention or knowledge of a possible death. This (arrest) is a travesty of my liberty. The lordship may grant interim bail."

"Allu Arjun has been arrested and remanded today [December 13]. I'm asking for a grant of interim bail. In earlier cases, the High Court was approached after the arrest."

The Pushpa actor, his security team, and the Sandhya Theatre management have been booked by police in the stampede case. The accused face the allegation that the premiere for Pushpa 2 was organized without prior intimation to the police..

The actor will be presented before a magistrate later today.

According to reports, seven people have been already arrested in connection with the case.
