Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has been removed as the party's deputy leader in the upper House of Parliament. According to a PTI report citing AAP sources, the party has written to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat to appoint MP Ashok Mittal as Deputy Leader of the party in Rajya Sabha, replacing MP Raghav Chadha.
According to reports, the party has also informed the Secretariat that Chadha should not be allotted time to speak in Parliament.
This move from the party comes after widespread rumours that Chadha is likely to join BJP. The rumours intensified after Chadha kept mum following AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia's acquittal in the alleged liquor policy scam by trial courts.
