A two-seater training plane that purportedly belonged to Redbird Aviation made an emergency landing near Sambra airport in Belagavi. Technical issues that arose throughout the flight led to the landing. Both pilots were brought to an Air Force hospital for treatment after suffering minor wounds with the trainer suffering an injury in the legs.

Mechanical issue forced the landing

A trainee and a trainer were aboard when it took off. Between Honnihal and Mavinakatti villages, the crew was compelled to make an emergency landing due to a mechanical issue. Villagers informed the police station in Marihal after which they went to the location.

There are two flight training facilities in the Belagavi airport premises. They provide a variety of courses, such as conversion flying, simulator flying, training for the commercial pilot's licence, and technical courses like multi-engine rating and radio telephony.
