Sushmita Sen's sister-in-law, TV actress Charu Asopa, best known for her role as Rajkumari Revati in the serial Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev, recently revealed that she has left Mumbai and moved back to her hometown Bikaner, Rajasthan, with three-year-old daughter, Ziana. The 37-year-old has launched her own online clothing venture, citing financial struggles in Mumbai that had become 'extremely difficult' to manage.

The actress revealed that she is living with her parents with her daughter in Bikaner for a month now. Explaining her decision to leave Mumbai, Charu told Hindustan Times that city life was difficult, with monthly expenses—rent and other costs—amounting to Rs 1–1.5 lakh, which she found difficult.

"I would rather not leave Ziana alone with a nanny when I am shooting in Mumbai. It used to get extremely difficult. Moving back home and starting my own thing was completely planned; it wasn't a rushed decision," she told.

Further speaking about starting her online clothing business, Charu responded to the criticism she received, saying that she launched her own venture to be able to focus on her daughter, something she believes is not wrong.

She added, "When you start something new, everyone struggles. What's different in my case? I am doing everything on my own, from taking orders to sending packages to getting stock. When I came to Mumbai for acting that wasn't easy too. I struggled to build a name for myself and I managed."

When asked about ex-husband Rajeev Sen's reaction, she said, "He can always come visit his daughter in Bikaner. Before leaving Mumbai, I dropped a text informing him about my plans." The actress also revealed that she plans to buy a house here in Bikaner.

"It's not like I was shooting for a big project. I would rather not take up a daily soap as I want to focus on Ziana. And I can shoot digital content from here, anyway. If I have to travel for a shoot, the best part of being back home is, I can always leave Ziana with her grandparents than a nanny," concluded Charu.

Charu and Rajeev often made headlines for their tumultuous marriage.

The duo got married in 2019 and got divorced in 2023.
