NCB dismisses officer involved in Aryan Khan's drugs case; full details inside
NCB Director General Satya Narayan Pradhan has confirmed Singh’s dismissal, but Singh declined to comment.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has dismissed superintendent of police (SP) Vishwa Vijay Singh, who was part of the team that conducted the 2021 cordelia cruise drugs raid in which Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was arrested.
Ministry of Home Affairs ordered the dismissal of the NCB officer after an inquiry was recently concluded in an unrelated case related to misconduct.
According to senior NCB officials, Vishwa Vijay Singh Singh was suspended in April last year while an investigation was being conducted by the NCB regarding his conduct.
NCB Director General Satya Narayan Pradhan confirmed the removal of SP Vishwa Vijay Singh.
The controversial raid on Cordelia cruise
Mumbai NCB led by the then zonal director Sameer Wankhede had raided Cordelia cruise at the international cruise terminal in October 2021. NCB claimed to have seized drugs and ₹1.33 lakh in cash.
14 people were caught in this case and Aryan Khan (24), Arbaaz Merchant (26) and Munmum Dhamecha (28) were arrested on October 3 after hours of questioning.
Following allegations against NCB’s Mumbai team, including former zonal director Sameer Wankhede, a separate vigilance inquiry was conducted into the Cordelia raids, which concluded in November and resulted in departmental action was initiated against seven officers.
NCB formed a special investigation team (SIT) headed by deputy director general Sanjay Kumar Singh to reinvestigate the raids. The SIT found several irregularities in the raid and did not find evidence to suggest that Aryan Khan was involved in a larger drugs conspiracy or an international drugs trafficking syndicate.
Wankhede was transferred to Chennai after Aryan Khan got a clean chit.
