Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji's father and veteran actor Deb Mukherjee passed away on Friday morning at 83 after battling age-related health issues. On Saturday, Kajol mourned her uncle’s loss and shared a heartfelt note. Posting a photo with him, she recalled their Durga Puja tradition and expressed her grief, saying, "I’m still adjusting to the thought of a world without him."

Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji's father and veteran actor Deb Mukherjee passed away on Friday morning at the age of 83 after battling age-related health issues. On Saturday, Kajol mourned the loss of her uncle, Deb Mukherjee, and penned an emotional note on her social media handle, calling him one of the 'finest men.'
Sharing a photo with Deb, Kajol wrote, "Tradition said that every Durga Puja we would click pictures together. When we were all dressed up and looking good. I’m still adjusting to the thought of a world without him. To one of the finest men that I’ve ever known. Rest in peace. You will be loved, remembered and missed every day of my life."

Earlier today, Kajol took to Instagram story, sharing a note about how grief never truly fades. The post read, "Grief is the price we pay for having loved deeply. It never goes away. We just learn to live with it."
On Friday, several Bollywood celebrities including Hrithik Roshan, Jaya Bachchan, Karan Johar, Salim Khan, Ashutosh Gowariker, Anil Kapoor, Lalit Pandit, and Kiran Rao, visited Ayan's residence in Mumbai to pay their last respects.
Ayan's close friends, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who had jetted off to Alibaug to celebrate Bhatt's birthday, returned back to the city on Friday after hearing the news of Deb's demise.
Ranbir, who has been close friends with Ayan for years, participated in the final rites and served as a pallbearer, carrying Deb Mukherjee's body on his shoulders.
Deb had worked in several Bollywood movies such as Aansoo Ban Gaye Phool, Abhinetri, Do Aankhen, Baaton Baaton Mein, Kaminey, Gudgudee and more.
