'It's Disrespectful': Disappointed Sonu Nigam Asks Politicians To NOT Attend Concerts After Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma Leaves Show Midway
Singer Sonu Nigam performed at an event in Jaipur on Monday, which was graced by PM Modi, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma and others. However, Sonu was disappointed after the CM and other politicians walked out of his concert midway. "If you want to leave a show midway, don't attend it in the first place," Sonu later said in a video.

Iconic singer Sonu Nigam performed at the Rising Rajasthan event in Jaipur on Monday evening, which was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and other cabinet ministers. However, the singer was left with a bitter after-taste as the CM and other ministers left his concert midway while he was still performing on stage.
Sonu later took to his Instagram to share a video in which he can be seen taking a sarcastic dig at politicians for insulting artists and performers. "While I was performing, I saw that the CM and other dignitaries got up and left the show midway. Seeing them go, the other delegates who had come from different parts of the world also walked out. How will people from foreign countries appreciate Indian artists if our own people don't do it?" he questioned.
He went on to say, "I just want to request all politicians that if you want to leave a show midway then don't attend it in the first place, or leave before the concert begins. It is very disrespectful to leave abruptly while an artist is performing on stage. Ye Saraswati ka apmaan hai."

Sonu added that the incident was brought to his notice by the others who enjoyed his concert and texted him saying that he should not perform for politicians where he was not respected. "I know you all are busy, you have a lot of work and you should not waste your time by attending such shows, so please leave before the performance begins," he concluded.
As Sonu shared the video, netizens and other artists came to his support and lauded him for voicing out the issue. "Only you have the guts to speak on such sensitive things," a user wrote, while another said, "The one and only who can take a stand."
