'I Haven't Met Her': Taapsee Pannu On Rift With Kangana Ranaut; Says Their Different Upbringings Shape Their Opinions

Taapsee Pannu recently addressed her long-standing feud with Kangana Ranaut, which began in 2019 and has continued to make headlines over the years. While speaking about their equation, Taapsee revealed that she has still not met Kangana, adding that they did not meet even when the “so-called” issues between them first began.

At the India Today Woman Summit 2026, Taapsee was asked whether she had mended her relationship with Kangana. Responding to the question, she said, “I haven't met her. I didn't meet her before when these so-called issues started. I haven't met her now as well.”

Taapsee went on to explain that the two actresses come from different backgrounds, which shapes the way they communicate and perceive things. She said, “My opinion on her is reflective of my upbringing and my way of talking, my way of perceiving things and hers... she stands by hers.”

Leaving it to the audience to form their own opinion, Taapsee concluded, “So, I think that's enough for everybody to look and decide who comes from where.”

Taapsee Pannu and Kangana Ranaut’s public feud dates back to 2019, when Taapsee praised the trailer of Judgementall Hai Kya but did not specifically mention Kangana. Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel responded by accusing Taapsee of copying Kangana and called her a “sasti copy.” Taapsee later hit back, saying she did not know Kangana had a “patent on curly hair” and maintained that if she was considered a copy of a good actress, she would take it as a compliment.

The equation became more heated in 2020, when Kangana called Taapsee and Swara Bhasker “B-grade actresses” and “needy outsiders” while discussing Bollywood’s insider-outsider debate. Taapsee responded sarcastically to the “B-grade” remark and later said she objected to Kangana discrediting her hard work. While the two continued taking indirect digs at each other, Taapsee has more recently maintained that she never actually “clashed” with Kangana and has even said she is open to being friends.
