Jadavpur University Student's Death: Team Of Child Rights Body Visits House Of Deceased
The WBCRCR adviser said, "This is an unpardonable and heinous crime. We will see to the end. Those who are behind this death are all adults".

Kolkata: West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights (WBCPCR) on Sunday morning visited the family of the deceased Jadavpur University (JU) student Swapnadip Kundu and assured that those who are behind the death of the student will be severely punished.
Kundu, a first-year student of Bengali honours, fell from the second-floor balcony of the main hostel building around 11.45 pm on Wednesday and died while undergoing treatment at a hospital at 3.40 am the next day.
Talking to the media, WBCPCR chairperson Ananya Chakraborty said that all those are arrested so far are adults and if their connection with the death is established then they will get strict punishment.

"We will go to any extent so that those involved behind the death gets punishment. All those sree arrested so far are adults and if need be we will demand capital punishment for them. When there was 'Hok Kolorob' movement I was in the committee and then I had demanded installation on CCTV cameras in the campus but was of no avail. Registers were also not maintained," said Chakraborty.
Chakraborty also mentioned that since the deceased student is a minor so she had requested police to add POSCO act.
Two arrests made so far
Incidentally, there is hardly any CCTV cameras installed in the varsity campus.
Meanwhile, after interrogation police had arrested two students of second year from JU Dipsekhar Dutta and Manotosh Ghosh and after being produced before session court the two students were also given police custody till August 22.
Commissioner of Police Vineet Goyal however, assured speedy investigation in the matter.
