The Delhi High Court on Tuesday imposed a Rs 2 lakh fine on Ashneer Grover, the ex-managing Director and co-founder of Bharat Pe, for his social media posts targeting Bharat Pe, despite giving assurance to the court that he wouldn't do so.
During the court proceedings, Grover's lawyer admitted that there was a mistake and apologized, saying that the post was made in error.

Resilient Innovations Pvt., the company behind BharatPe, has lodged an application urging the Delhi High Court to restrain Grover from sharing any defamatory content against the company. In a fresh petition, BharatPe's parent entity sought an interim injunction against its co-founder at the Delhi High Court.
In a legal move, BharatPe has filed a petition to prevent Grover from disclosing confidential information related to the company. BharatPe's legal team asserted that Grover violated the confidentiality terms stipulated in his employment contract. The allegations took place when Grover shared specific information regarding equity allocation during BharatPe's Series E funding round on November 16 in a tweet that was later removed.
Although, the Delhi High court acknowledged the apology but specified that accepting it hinges upon the individual making a payment of Rs 2 lakh to the Delhi High Court Clerks Association as a condition.
