Ahmedabad: Chairman Gautam Adani described the achievement of 500 million tonnes cargo handling at Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) as more than just a business milestone. He said such achievements reflect legacy, vision and belief, not just performance numbers.

He called it a moment to pause, reflect on the journey, and prepare for the next phase of growth.

From Mundra to a Global Network

Adani recalled the early days of building Mundra port, when the area lacked basic infrastructure. Despite challenges, strong belief and risk-taking helped turn it into a major logistics hub.

From this beginning, APSEZ expanded across India and globally. Today, it operates a network of 20 ports across locations such as Hazira, Dahej, Dhamra, Krishnapatnam and even international markets like Australia, Israel and Sri Lanka.

He described this not as separate assets, but as a connected system driving India’s growth.

Power of People and Last-Mile Execution

A key theme of the speech was the importance of people. Adani stressed that real success comes from workers on the ground—crane operators, logistics teams, marine staff and maintenance workers.

He highlighted that infrastructure is built not just at the top level but through continuous effort at the last mile. These teams ensure smooth operations every day and form the backbone of the organisation.

He also paid tribute to workers who stay away from their families and contribute to building the nation.

Focus on Empowerment and Structure

Adani said the company is redesigning its organisation to empower employees. A new three-layer structure is being introduced to reduce hierarchy and improve decision-making.

He explained that future success will depend on faster decisions and stronger accountability at the ground level rather than control from the top.

The company also plans to strengthen partnerships, ensuring that vendors and partners grow along with the organisation.

India’s Logistics Opportunity

Looking ahead, Adani said logistics will play a key role in India’s growth story. He believes the country is entering a phase where infrastructure and connectivity will become major drivers of economic power.

APSEZ aims to lead this transformation by expanding its capacity and improving efficiency.

Ambitious Target: 1 Billion Tonnes by 2030

Adani set a bold goal for the future-reaching 1 billion tonnes of cargo by 2030. He pointed out that growth has accelerated over the years, with each 100 million tonnes achieved faster than the previous one.

This shows strong momentum and the company’s ability to scale rapidly.

Adani concluded by saying that milestones are not endpoints but starting points for new journeys. With a strong foundation, empowered teams and clear vision, APSEZ is preparing for its next phase of growth—aiming to strengthen India’s position in global logistics.
