'Tu Toh Marega,' History Sheeters Make Threat Calls To Gwalior Jeweller To Extort ₹5 Lakh, Arrested; 0.315 Bore Pistol Recovered

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Two miscreants were arrested for making threat calls to a jeweler in an attempt to extort Rs 5 lakh from him in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior on Tuesday.

The accused callers introduced themselves as sharpshooters and threatened to kill him if he didn't pay the hefty amount. Terrified by the death threats, the victim businessman did not open his shop the next day. When the threat calls continued all night, he approached the police station.

'Received threat calls all night'

According to information, the victim has been identified as Brajesh Soni. He owns a jewelry shop in the Char Shahar Naka area in Gwalior. He filed a complaint at Hazira police station, stating that he had been receiving calls from unknown numbers, threatening to kill him if he did not pay Rs 5 lakh cash. As a precautionary measure, he kept his shop closed the next day. The complainant further stated that the accused callers told him, "Kab tak dukaan band rakhega. Jis din kholega, uss din marega." (For how long will you keep the shop closed? We will kill you the day you reopen it.)

Acting on the police complaint, the police caught two accused—Sachin Lodhi, a resident of Purani Cantonment Police Station, and Aditya Prajapati, a resident of Raja Ki Mandi. Police have also recovered a country-made 0.315 bore pistol, other arms, and a mobile phone used for making the threat calls.

Both the accused have old criminal records. At present, the police are interrogating the criminals.
