Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): In a shocking incident, a 13-year-old boy in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur allegedly ended his life after failing his Class 8 examinations, as reported by police on Monday.
The tragic incident occurred on Saturday in the Bhola Nagar area under the jurisdiction of Madhotal police station.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police B.S. Gathoriya, the boy, whose father is a tailor, was alone at home when he took the extreme step. He hanged himself from an iron rod using a scarf.

Later in the evening, his elder brother, who is a college student, returned home. He knocked on the door but received no response.
The elder brother then climbed over a wall to enter the house. Inside the house, he discovered his younger sibling hanging. He rushed him to a hospital, however, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Preliminary investigations suggest the boy was deeply distressed after failing his 8th board exams.
The results of 5th and 8th class board exams were announced on Friday, which is said to lead him to take the extreme step.
At present inquiries into the matter are ongoing, police added. Further action would be taken on the basis of results of findings.
