MP Horror: 90-Year-Old Woman Burnt To Death After Closely-Kept Room Heater Ignites Fire In Her Blanket In Mauganj

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 90-year-old woman died after her blanket caught fire due to the closely-kept room heater in Madhya Pradesh's Mauganj. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where she died.
The deceased has been identified as 90-year-old Lalita Tiwari.
The incident took place at around 3 am on Friday-Saturday night in Judmaniya village of the Devtalab police station area of the district.
Rajesh Tiwari, son of deceased Lalita Tiwari, said that his mother would keep the room heater on to survive the chilly nights. Like every night, on Friday night too, she asked to switch on the room heater and shifted it close to her bed and slept. Around 3 o'clock, when the family was in deep sleep, they sensed a burning smell. They were shocked to see the flames in Lalita's blanket. They rushed her to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
The police have sent the body for the post-mortem.

A similar incident was reported in Bhopal on November 28, where a 67-year-old stubbed out a burning bidi on the blanket, which sparked a fire in the entire house. His wife managed to save herself, however he died on the spot. The deceased was identified as Kamal Singh (67), a resident of Bilkhiriya, Bhopal.
