Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh has received 29 per cent less rainfall than normal so far in June, with 35 districts, including Indore, Jabalpur and Ujjain, reporting a rainfall deficit.

Due to ongoing pre-monsoon activity, thunderstorms, rain and gusty winds are likely in more than 30 districts on Tuesday.
These include Bhopal, Gwalior, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Vidisha, Dewas, Sehore, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Harda, Betul, Narmadapuram, Raisen, Sagar, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, Anuppur, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur and Panna.
What do meteorologists say?
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the state has received only 22.7 mm of rainfall between June 1 and June 15, against the normal average of 31.9 mm. Most of the rainfall recorded so far has been due to pre-monsoon activity.
The southwest monsoon is expected to enter Madhya Pradesh around June 18–19. Weather experts believe rainfall figures are likely to improve once the monsoon advances across the state.
The districts that have recorded below-normal rainfall include Anuppur, Balaghat, Chhindwara, Damoh, Dindori, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Mandla, Mauganj, Narsinghpur, Pandhurna, Panna, Rewa, Sagar, Seoni, Sidhi, Singrauli, Tikamgarh, Umaria, Alirajpur, Barwani, Betul, Bhind, Burhanpur, Datia, Dewas, Dhar, Indore, Jhabua, Khandwa, Khargone, Ratlam, Ujjain and Vidisha.
