Narmadapuram (Madhya Pradesh): Collector and electoral officer, Neeraj Kumar Singh, has directed the officials to make all arrangements for 1,187 polling booths in the district.
He said that the polling booths should be painted and the Model of Conduct (MCC) should be followed during the religious functions.
He issued the directives through a video conferencing at the collectorate on Monday. The collector also scrutinised the distribution of 12D application forms.
He directed the registration officers not to distribute nomination papers if the deposit money is not given. Singh asked the officials to set up teams to organise a training programme for the elderly and physically challenged voters.
The officials should identify constituencies where the voting is less than 50 per cent and raise awareness among the voters about the importance of the right to vote, he said.
The collector also reviewed the arrangements made for immersion of the idols of Goddess Durga and asked the officials to maintain law and order.
He said that efforts should be made to complete the immersion of the idols in a day or two and that there should be proper security at the Ghats.
