Bhopal: Traffic diversion for PM’s visit creates traffic jam in city

It increased traffic pressure at Court Square, keeping traffic police on toes. Besides, there was jam during rehearsal of traffic arrangement.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Traffic diversion for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on April 1 created vehicular jam in several areas in the city during office hours and in the evening on Friday. Traffic police had issued traffic diversion plan for April 1 but roads were heavily barricaded that caused traffic congestion.

Traffic was stopped through barricading on roads along Paryavas Bhavan. So, the traffic coming from MP Nagar towards Jail Road had to move either towards MP Nagar police station or behind the court.

It increased traffic pressure at Court Square, keeping traffic police on toes. Besides, there was jam during rehearsal of traffic arrangement.

Traffic jam was also seen on Hoshangabad Road, Vyapam Square, Shivaji Nagar, BJP office, Rani Kamlapati Railway Station as the roads were barricaded.

The situation was similar near Jail Road, Vallabh Bhavan, Raj Bhavan where roads were barricaded. In Lalghati area, traffic jam was seen during office hours.

As railway passengers were told to enter Rani Kamlapati Railway Station from platform no 5, there was rush along the platform on Hoshangabad Road.

According to traffic police, traffic on many roads will be completely closed from 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday. From 11 am to 5 pm, the entry of passengers from railway platform number 1 will be completely closed.
