Bhopal Shahar Qazi leads Namaz at Idgah; Bhopal Police Commissioner, and collector present.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A large number of devotees visited different mosques in the city to offer Namaz on Sunday morning to mark Eid-ul-Azha.
The devotees included men and children wearing Kurta-Pyjamas, sherwanis, jackets, coats and caps in various colours. Bhopal Shahar Qazi, Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadwi conducted the Namaz at Idgah at 7am. It was followed by Jama Masjid, Taj-ul-Masajid and Moti Masjid. After prayer, people exchanged greetings by hugging each other.
After the prayers, the devotees reached their homes and celebrated the festival by offering sacrifice. During the prayers offered at Idgah, Bhopal Commissioner Makrand Deouskar, collector Avinash Lavania along with police, administration and Bhopal Municipal Corporation team were present.
For the past two years, the celebrations were severely hit due to Covid pandemic. There was a ban on mass gatherings and so Eid prayers had to be offered at home. Markets were shut, guests were not welcomed and greeting others with a hug was ruled out. Now, all the restrictions have been lifted, joy and bonhomie are in the air on Sunday.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan felicitated and extended his good wishes to the people of the state on Eid-ul-Azha. He said that this festival gives a message of sacrifice, devotion and mutual trust and inspires to strengthen humanity and brotherhood. Chouhan has appealed to celebrate the festival with peace, harmony and accord as per the glorious tradition of India.
