Force Motors to Deliver 2,900+ Gurkha Vehicles to Indian Defence Forces

Force Motors Limited has secured an order for 2,978 vehicles from the Indian Defence Forces, further strengthening its role in bolstering the country's military mobility. Known for producing rugged and dependable vehicles, the company continues its long-standing association with the defence sector by supplying General Service Vehicles designed for tough operational demands.

Force Motors has designed these vehicles to cater to the operational needs of both the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force. Built for rugged performance, they are engineered to handle challenging terrains and demanding conditions, ensuring reliability in critical defence operations.

Force Motors has long been a trusted supplier to the defence sector, offering rugged and capable vehicles built for extreme conditions. The Gurkha LSV (Light Strike Vehicle) stands out for its durability, off-road capabilities, and adaptability, making it a reliable choice for military operations. With high ground clearance, exceptional water-wading ability, and an advanced 4x4 system, the Gurkha is designed to tackle diverse terrains, from arid deserts to challenging mountain trails.

Under the hood, the Gurkha is equipped with a more powerful 2.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine sourced from Mercedes-Benz. This upgraded unit now produces 138bhp—an increase of 48bhp—along with 320Nm of torque. Power is distributed to all four wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox, enhancing its off-road capability and performance.

The Force Gurkha prioritizes safety with features like a tyre pressure monitoring system, dual airbags, traction control, hill-hold assist, and three-point seatbelts for all passengers. It also comes equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) for enhanced stability and control.
