US President Donald Trump Posts AI Video Of Himself Dumping Stephen Colbert In Trash After Late Show Finale
Donald Trump sparked controversy after sharing an AI-generated video showing himself dumping Stephen Colbert into a dumpster and dancing beside it, just a day after The Late Show aired its finale. The viral post revives their decade-long feud, with supporters calling it classic Trump trolling and critics condemning it as undignified political mockery.

In a move that perfectly captures his signature online style, Donald Trump has ignited fresh controversy by sharing an AI-generated video showing himself physically tossing comedian and longtime critic Stephen Colbert into a dumpster just one day after The Late Show with Stephen Colbert aired its final episode.
The surreal clip, which quickly went viral and racked up more than 18 million views, depicts Trump storming Colbert’s stage during a mock “final broadcast,” grabbing the late-night host, throwing him into a large green dumpster, slamming the lid shut, and then celebrating with fist pumps and a dance to “Y.M.C.A.” as the audience applauds.
For supporters, it was classic Trump trolling. For critics, it was yet another example of a former president embracing political mockery in ways they consider beneath the office.
But the viral video is just the latest chapter in one of America’s most public and bitter media feuds.
The End of The Late Show And Trump’s Victory Lap
The AI clip was posted just a day after the real finale of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which ended on May 21, 2026, after an 11-year run.
CBS said the cancellation was driven by financial pressures, declining late-night ratings, and rising production costs, despite Colbert often leading competitors in viewership.
The rivalry dates back more than a decade.
The tension began during Trump’s 2015 presidential campaign, when he appeared on The Late Show. Trump later accused CBS of editing out parts of the interview claims repeatedly debunked, as the footage remained publicly available.
When Stephen Colbert officially took over The Late Show later that year, he quickly transformed Trump into one of his central comedic targets.
Through impersonations, fact-checking, and blistering monologues, Colbert built much of his political satire around Trump. During Trump’s first 100 days in office alone, studies found Colbert made more than 300 jokes about him.
Colbert as Trump’s Most Persistent Late-Night Critic
Throughout Trump’s presidency and even after his political comeback Colbert remained one of television’s sharpest anti-Trump voices.
He routinely criticized Trump’s policies, rhetoric, legal troubles, and personal conduct, often framing his commentary as both comedy and democratic accountability.
Colbert also mocked Trump’s legal disputes, including Trump’s $16 million settlement involving Paramount/CBS over a 60 Minutes editing controversy, calling it a “big fat bribe.”
Trump’s Counterattacks: “No Talent” and “Trainwreck”
Trump responded in typical fashion through social media.
On Truth Social and X, he repeatedly attacked Colbert personally, calling him: “No talent”, “A total jerk”, “Pathetic trainwreck”, “A man with terrible ratings and no life”
Trump has long portrayed late-night hosts as politically biased elites unfairly targeting him, and Colbert became one of his favorite punching bags.
The AI Dumpster Video: Trump’s Latest Viral Troll
The newly shared AI-generated clip may be the most dramatic escalation yet.
In the video, Trump appears on Colbert’s stage during a mock farewell monologue, physically lifts the host, dumps him into a trash container, shuts the lid, and triumphantly dances beside it while the crowd cheers.
The symbolism was unmistakable Trump figuratively “taking out the trash” after Colbert’s television exit.
