Four days after Sindh Home Minister’s house was set ablaze by protesters, Pakistani MP and daughter of President Asif Ali Zardari, Asifa Bhutto's convoy was attacked with sticks and stones by a mob on Friday during her journey from Karachi to Nawabshah. The incident occurred amid rising public outrage over a controversial canal project planned on the Sindh River.
Reportedly, protesters blocked the road and raised slogans against the canal and corporate farming initiatives. Angry protestors attacked the convoy vehicles with stones and sticks.

The police quickly intervened and safely escorted her vehicle out of the area. No injuries were reported in the incident. An FIR has been registered against the attackers and multiple arrests have been made.
Protest In Sindh
Protests have erupted following the government's plan to build a canal to divert water from the Sindh River to the Cholistan region. Locals and opposition parties claim that the project threatens Sindh’s water resources.
Earlier on Tuesday, protestor set fire to the residence of Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar. Security personnel present at the house were reportedly attacked.
