WATCH: Hooded Gang Wielding Axe & Machete Attacks Man In East London Park; Caught On CCTV

London: A man was violently attacked by a gang wielding axes and machetes in broad daylight at Pennyfields Park in Tower Hamlets, on Wednesday, March 26. The entire incident, captured on camera, showed three hooded assailants dressed in black tracksuits and balaclavas surrounding their victim before forcing him to the ground and assaulting him.

In the footage, one of the attackers could be seen carrying an axe while walking away from the site. The victim, visibly injured, was seen using his mobile phone after the attack as passersby approached to assist.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told Daily Mail, "On Wednesday, 26 March at 5:45 PM, police were called to Pennyfields Park, Poplar, following reports of a stabbing. Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, which treated a male for stab wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where his injuries were later confirmed to be non-life-threatening."

At present, no arrests have been made in the matter; however, the investigation is underway.

The attack adds to a series of violent incidents that occurred in London in the recent months. Earlier this year, a 14-year-old schoolboy was fatally stabbed on a route 472 bus in Woolwich. Other attacks that have been caught on camera, include a broad daylight stabbing in Carshalton, where the victim was seen grappling with his assailant, another was left bleeding helplessly on the street.
