What began as a painful bicycle accident in Japan turned into a heartwarming encounter for Indian woman Sonam Midha, who says a local bicycle shopkeeper’s unexpected generosity left a lasting impression on her.

Sonam was cycling to work in the rain when her bicycle slipped, causing her to fall. She injured her shoulder, damaged the cycle’s handle and also cracked the screen of her iPhone.

Although the accident left her shaken, what happened later became the part of the experience she chose to remember.

After reaching work, Sonam informed a colleague about the accident and received some band-aids for her injury. During her lunch break, she decided to take the damaged bicycle to a nearby repair shop.

She was prepared to pay for the repairs. Having lived with the costs of bicycle services in Japan, Sonam knew that even small adjustments could come with a charge. She recalled that getting the angle of her bicycle seat adjusted had previously cost her 500 yen when she purchased it.

However, the shopkeeper did not ask her for any money.
